The dog's conformation (overall appearance and structure) is judged while the breed's purpose should be kept in mind at all times. In Australia, dog breeds are divided into seven different groups, Toys, Terriers, Gundogs, Hounds, Working, Utility and Non-Sporting. Only breeds which are recognised by the Australian National Kennel Council can be exhibited even though there are many more breeds recognised in other countries. There are different types of shows
