There are 30 breeds recognised as Gundogs in Australia - these dogs all make great pets and companions but are also talented hunting, pointing and retrieving breeds. Different breeds are used for different hunting purposes as our Gundogs vary greatly in size, shape and the way they work (see information on Field work). They are all intelligent breeds and can be used for retrieving, field work, showing, obedience, agility, tracking and many other dog sports.
